Sean Green began dancing at the age of 13. Before turning 20, he had appeared on MTV in New York City as an award winning competitive dancer, claiming first place and the grand prize for MTV’s live Cinaburst contest. Shortly thereafter and closer to his hometown, Sean gained invaluable experience helping set the choreography for Super Bowl XXIX in Miami, Florida.
In and Behind the Scenes
In 2005 Sean performed in the Palm Beach Opera’s production of Aida. In 2008, he choreographed and danced on Mario’s European Tour, opening for Joshua Moreland in Amsterdam and Belgium. Sean rejoined Joshua Moreland in 2010 as a performer, opening for the Far East Movement Tour in Asia and accompanying as a choreographer. In 2011, Sean returned to the sporting arena, proudly choreographing a competition piece for the Florida State Seminole Dance Force team.
All- Star opportunities
Other notable achievements include being selected as the Lead Choreographer for the Black and White Dance Production in Miami, Florida, in 2008 and again in 2012. Between 1996 and 2012, Sean taught the nationally acclaimed Strikers All-Stars dance crew. In 2000, Sean was a member and choreographer for the winning Strikers All-Stars on Showtime at Apollo Theatre in New York City. As instructor, Sean again propelled the group to stardom when they made it into the final three crews in Season 2 of America’s Best Dance Crew. Currently, Sean is working for the National Basketball Association (NBA) on the Miami Heat “Extreme Team” and also works as a choreographer for the Miami Heat Dancers.
Learner and Leader
Sean attended the founding school of the Strikers All-Stars, Florida A&M University. He graduated on December 15, 2000, with a Bachelor of Science in Teaching. From 2004-2007, Sean was an Artist in Residence at Bak Middle School of the Arts and at Dreyfoos School of the Performing Arts from 2007 to 2010. While an Artist in Residence, Sean helped expand the school’s dance curriculum by introducing Hip Hop as an art form. Throughout his career, Sean has focused primarily on Hip Hop and Funk styles, training under the Hip Hop community’s most renown icons such as: Justin Timberlake’s choreographer, Marty Kudelka, Dave Scott, Brian Puspos, Lando Wilkens, Ellen Kim, Brian Green, Mr. Wiggles, Jazzy J (Soul Fire), Dexter Carr and Luam Keflezgy. As a mentor and teacher, Sean worked with Chris Grant for seven years, helping Chris realize his dream when he was selected to tour with Michael Jackson on his “This is It” tour. Chris Grant is currently a lead choreographer for Beyonce. Another protégé, Michael Pesante, who studied at Sean’s studio, is now touring with Rhianna.
Sean’s Dance Factory
In 2004 Sean had a vision to create his own dance studio. For the past 10 years he has been realizing that dream as founder, owner and operator of Sean’s Dance Factory in West Palm Beach, Florida. Sean has become a pivotal role model, saturating his community with rich Hip Hop culture. Sean’s unique sense of musicality and teaching style allows dancers to dissect rhythms, manipulate beats and groove no matter the selection of music. He daily fosters a positive, nurturing environment for all dancers to develop self confidence, enhance their skills, and grow into their own unique style of dance. Sean looks forward to his annual production of the Big Bang Show, where he and his students together experience the synthesis of his passion and dedication.
